I don't think the quote is about not monetizing your work. It's a play on words—a "gift" is something you give, so to find your gift then give it to the world means to know what you're good at then do it.

It's getting at the concept of ikigai, IMO, Picasso just didn't have the word for it.

Visiting Legoland and DisneyQuest. I did get to go to Sega World in the London Trocadero though. That was like going aboard a spaceship. I still have vivid dreams about it—but always bittersweet as I can't take someone to it as it is long gone. Otherworldly.

It only seems to get worse—vested interests. The Better eShop menu includes a link to buy eShop credit. I clicked it assuming it would link to something official. Nope. They're partnered to sell gift cards with famehype—whoever they are, never heard of them.

The presentation, headline and content itself inappropriately presents it as factually verified though. True or not, The Guardian is meant to be better than publishing unproven hearsay like it is anything but that.

Even tagged as `news`. This casts strong doubt not just on Helen Horton, but TG too.

The solution is simple. You get your Kafkaesque freak on.

The PET toys were dope btw. Every bit as interesting as the Digivices of their day.

Got me thinking about VCD lmao. I had the add-on for the PS1, because simply watching them on the Amiga wasn't enough. My late uncle was all-in on Betamax and LaserDisc though. Swanky bugger.

Always thought the lighting was beautiful on Alien films. Great UI design in them too. Don't tell me there's a big, beautiful coffee table book full of this stuff or I'll buy it.

Fuse Bars from the '90s are what I crave pretty regularly. There's an Indian one that gets imported with entirely different contents and packaging, but still Cadbury!

I contacted them a few years ago, asked them to bring it back, but what they do are bags of Indian bar pieces.

I'll also say this—I did software for emergency dispatch in Canada—felt impactful on paper, but having a seat at the table makes you realize the others at the table aren't capable of supporting what's best for the folks using the tools.

Audio for games certainly isn't curing cancer, but ikigai.

First is much better than the second Escape film—the UI of the glider still seems very cool. Fun film—unapologetically cheesy even at the time lol.
