That man's clearly got lips for a low brass embouchure. Poor judgement at every turn.

An infant with a Sisyphean willpower and singular purpose would eventually eat 2 glizzies per day at 2 years old, just over their daily 1k calorie needs. I'm going to need more time to sort out the rest.

what's the rate of glizzy intake for the average newborn though?
March 13, 2025 at 3:41 PM
Sounds fake, I'm going to have to look into that demoncrazy thing
March 13, 2025 at 12:46 PM
oh hey, I did find this article summary about it too

phys.org/news/2025-03...

and the short answer on the graphs is they exposed different bacteria to MPs, then antibiotics after some period, and after more than 24 hours the resistance to antibiotics increased. bottom line was control, no MPs
Microplastics could be fueling antibiotic resistance
Microplastics—tiny shards of plastic debris—are all over the planet. They have made their way up food chains, accumulated in oceans, clustered in clouds and on mountains, and been found inside human b...

I know in my brain this is a horrible idea, but my heart still wants Mississippi Hippos

I'd never really considered the costco glizzy as a means to an end before
March 12, 2025 at 2:30 PM
cool, hadn't thought of it that way before, but it makes sense. thanks!
March 12, 2025 at 2:20 PM
how do you mean? that it implies that without eugenics and the "smart group" procreating you get idiots living in trash?
March 12, 2025 at 2:14 PM
that's my question, how does impoundment differ in any real way from dismantling departments with funding already allotted to them?

I don't know if I can help, I'm horribly unqualified, but I'm trying to pick pieces of it that I can understand.

"Notably, counts were higher in vortexed samples at 24 h, indicating the presence of surface-attached cells on the MPs, which is corroborated by confocal imaging (Fig. S1)." sounds like bacteria grow well on microplastics..
March 11, 2025 at 3:19 PM
reading through, some terms that help with the graph
MP=microplastic, so x axis is concentration of microplastics (mp/*L)
MIC=minimum inhibitory concentration, layperson guess after reading the term 5 times, looks like this is the measure of antibiotic resistance.
PS=polystyrene, common plastic

Maybe I missed it, where's meat come into this? I thought they were mostly getting into people through water and air from tires and washing plastic based clothes.

Read the big red headline before reading the small print... per YEAR?! 80% chance each year?! That's insanity.
