I have to reach out to community centers and places of business to see if they'll let me drop off donation bins for canned food and non perishables. Then I'll add a date and update the website with drop locations and hours.

Status update: We’re now officially a 501(c)(3) nonprofit!
HaMishmar HaAtik is recognized by the IRS as a tax-exempt organization. Our mission is community protection through self-defense training, food security, and neighborhood support.
We're pleased to tell you we determined you're exempt from federal income tax under Internal Revenue Code (IRC) Section 501(c)(3). Donors can deduct contributions they make to you under IRC Section 170. You're also qualified to receive tax deductible bequests, devises, transfers or gifts under Section 2055, 2106, or 2522. This letter could help resolve questions on your exempt status. Please keep it for your records. Organizations exempt under IRC Section 501(c)(3) are further classified as either public charities or private foundations. We determined you're a public charity. You're required to file an annual information return (Form 990, 990-EZ, or 990-N, the e-Postcard). If you don't file for three consecutive years, your exempt status will be automatically revoked.

This is what I’m working on this week—building out training manuals.
While groups like JVP, SJP, and WOL are busy writing guides on how to protest, we’re focused on something different: teaching people how to save lives.
HaMishmar HaAtik - Basic Lifesaving Training Manual Training Module: - Perform the Four Basic Lifesaving Steps ________________________________________ Session Overview Objective: To train small groups in the four basic lifesaving steps to preserve life, prevent further injury, and prepare for medical evacuation. Target Group: Civilians with little to no prior medical or first aid experience. Training Duration: 90 minutes Required Materials: • Practice manikins or dummies • First aid kits • Blankets • Tourniquets (real or training versions) • Bandages, gauze, dressings • Splint materials (sticks, padding, bandanas) • Clipboards with evaluation checklists

It was imperative to get "non-Palestinians spearheading Palestinian activism." for while it was "true there is an Islamic aspect to this cause ... too much talking about an Islamic aspect is not going to do us good"

I'm waiting on feedback from the board members. I like to move a bit faster than my counterparts.

In 2-4 weeks, we can apply for the grant that covers these expenses. Some interesting items on this list.

Jew hatred is strong, nowhere in my posts or bio does it list anything other than Jewish, and I'm already added to a lovely list.
