What a nonsense proposal! What about the self-employed & gig workers? What about those who are already just barely getting by?

Blaming people for not saving enough in this economy is something only a wealthy banker with no grasp of reality would do.

How about wealth redistribution instead?

A horrifying thought, but not implausible given Trump's worship of manly man, 'powerful leader' Putin. Ending embargoes would likely be the first step, coupled with blocking the US defence tech that Ukraine has been relying on.

OMG. Market forces might affect consumer behaviour.

No mention of what's driving costs up — things like droughts, floods, international conflicts, etc. — just "inflation." Bringing in food that's less safe is not a solution.

It doesn’t help that the Libs have a useless, unelectable leader and no evidence of a strong alternative platform. Stiles is doing her best but the NDP is still not getting much traction.

It should be blatantly obvious by now that trying to appease the right is a losing strategy. But I guess that if you don't really believe in anything short-term buy-offs seem smart?

Given how close the budget vote was, you'd think that the Libs would be throwing some bones to people who care about the environment, Indigenous and social issues — out of pure political expediency, if nothing else.
Sadly, not. Not even a whisper of a possibility.

What makes him think that either Neanderthals or the humans they interbred with were "White" at the time?

they all bought into Ford's skills development fund and now they're wearing the same flimsy gabardine the scandalized Piccini is modelling #onpoli

Today would be a good day for Poilievre to *fail* to get his security clearance and the reasons to be made public.

Excess capacity has been seen as a mortal sin against the doctrine of efficiency for so long we’re not prepared for so many things coming at us now. Yet politicians strut around talking about vision and leadership.

This is always what privatization does in every sector. Businesses cherry-pick the easiest bits at profitable rates, and the public sector is left with the complex cases with austerity budgets.

Great that The Tyee is bringing the receipts to Alberta!

Same. It’s the same old (extractive, bad for the environment) same old, only ramped up. No vision of Canada being an advanced, high-tech nation with a complex, forward-looking culture.
