I got this when I had to stay overnight at the hospital after hitting my head at school. They used to do that to make sure you didn't have a concussion; I don't think they do any more. In the end, I didn't have a concussion, but I remember this wraparound cover. Just not any of the stories inside.

That's all just preamble to me announcing that I got a new nameplate yesterday. It's early days on the show so so far it's just a generic studio nameplate, but plain as it is, I think it's my favourite.

I don't remember when I started doing that, so I don't know if I have any from my earliest jobs. The ones I do have are scattered all around my garage, but I found 2 of the best of them to post here as examples.
Nameplate from my job as post producer on DC Super Hero Girls. A rectangular nameplate has a square graphic of Zatanna from the show with a sparkling magic wand in her left hand and a smartphone in her right hand, with which she is probably taking a selfie. They let us choose which of the main cast we wanted on our namecards, and I chose Zatanna because of her connection to the satellite era Justice League. The rest of the nameplate, about 2/3 of the surface of the rectangle, is white, with the name "Ben Jones" on it. A smaller rectangular piece of paper has been attached to the top of the namecard with a toothpick - the smaller paper has Zatanna's logo, which is a purplish letter Z with with 3 little sparkles, and the title "POST PRODUCER", which was my title on the show except when it wasn't? Sometimes my title was "producer in charge of post production".

Somewhere along the 30ish years of working in animation I started making a habit of grabbing the nameplates from my various office doors and cubicle walls as I left, just to have something to keep as a memento of each specific gig.

Newsweek picked some weird graphics for their child marriage graphic - you wouldn't know this was an article about child marriage from the images. I did a little bit of work in Affinity to fix it, but it doesn't really convey the appropriate sense of coercion.

Newsweek, in their original graphic, added clip art images of a groom and a bride with their backs turned on the left, and a masculine hand putting a wedding ring on a feminine hand's ring finger. I resized the bride and the feminine hand in both images to be much smaller.
