If anything, it's a good break from all of the spyware that Windows insists on every user nowadays. Very pleased with how this new build runs, and with future support always coming, I think I'll be using Linux systems for the foreseeable future.

Some things, like the watercooling system (which only has windows-compatible software for some important settings), need some special coaxing to get working, but I've managed to solve the puzzle myself.

Linux gaming has been very satisfying so far. Everything I play runs just fine on it, and thanks to Bazzite handling a lot of initial setup, I haven't run into any weirdness with games not working.

My gaming laptop could run CP2077 at around 40-45FPS, which was ok... but I always felt I could get more out of the experience.

While FFXIII wasn't regarded very well on its release, I think it's worth playing again if you want a more streamlined experience. I'm about 6 hours in so far and I'm having a good time!

While the overworld is mostly linear, I don't see that as a bad thing. Compared to the open-world experiences of most modern JRPGs nowadays, not having to figure out where to go on the big map is a nice change of pace. This, in turn, gets you into combat more often (which is what I want).

Gameplay-wise, it's about as I remember. Paradigm Shifts in combat to focus on DPS, support, or defense is really intuitive and fun once you understand how to stagger enemies. Liberal use of Libra on new enemies is key.

Steam's PC port of FFXIII is notoriously borked, but 3rd party mods have since fixed it up. Further mods have upgraded all of the textures and 3D models, and the result is stunningly good on my PC.

I'm able to perform a trade via emulation, but doing it with real hardware is much more fun. I'll have to see if there's 3rd party cables out there.

The card selection itself was pretty bad, ignoring a big part of the games (the armor/equipment) and having lackluster creatures representing the titular monsters themselves. Worst of all one of the card's names had a flagrant typo, which caused a lot of backlash.
