At the end of the day the 2024 election was between a highly qualified Senator and a past California Attorney General, a person of impeccable qualities and results. The other candidate was a felon. The issue is not that Joe Biden made sense even in decline, the issue is that he handed the torch.

The USA needs to have performance standards established for all branches of the federal government. Starting at POTUS and through Congress and the courts. There seems to be no professional standards in place in the current administration and is running roughshod on loosely held norms.
