Gonna make this a thread for games I’ve beaten this year, have some backlog to fill out but let’s get started.

Just in disbelief at this one, during Christmas no less. Wishing the best for everyone involved, this would never be easy but this week is just brutal.

Also even tho I’m a E33 gameplay hater it absolutely deserved to win the awards it did. It’s lower on my top 10 for the year but it’s shocking to me how people can’t look at it objectively and understand what a crazy achievement it is, out of nowhere nonetheless.

I regret to say that early on there is a chance I was wrong about Tears of the Kingdom but it still had a chance to be mid like I remember which is why I never finished. I’ll give a shout out to the fact that Switch 2 at least makes it a joy to play in handheld and docked mode.

Keighley really thinking he cooked with that final game reveal is somehow not even top 5 most embarrassing things of the night. I once again ask the industry please get someone better to be the face of this.

Metroid Prime (Remastered in this case) is simply one of the greatest games ever made. The isolation, the storytelling approach, the level design (basically a blueprint to what FromSoft achieved in Dark Souls 1), the score, it’s practically perfect in every conceivable way and I somehow forgot.

Metroid Prime is one of the most unique experiences in gaming and yes Metroid Prime 4 continues that legacy. Hits like nothing else and is easily so far the highlight of the Switch 2 for me.

The PS5 Pro is absolutely unnecessary but also the joy I am getting from Yotei with the Pro performance mode is still not worth it the price actually but it’s cool as fuck so.

Ghost of Yotei is hitting that “brain to brrrrrr” vibes after Silksong and Hades II and is some much needed chill vibes before going back to Silent Hill f. Ironically I put 90 hours into Tsushima and I think it’s a solid 7.5/10 so maybe I’m just a sucker for Sucker Punch.
