It's probably the most disgusting thing I've ever seen.
Talked to someone wearing an ICE costume at CPAC.

I just came across two news about self-imposed bans on DEI at U.S. universities. If these schools don't believe they benefit from DEI, why did they support it in the fist place? And if they consider DEI toxic to them, why didn't they ban it sooner, rather than only after Trump's executive order.

When our parents told us, "you're grounded," it meant we weren't able to go out and hang out with our friends anymore. Now when we say to our children, "you're grounded," it means they've been blocked from accessing the internet at home. Times have changed!

How can I be treated well? Simply put, I think two key factors make it feasible. One, you got to be generous—willing to pay extra for what you deserved; Two, you got to treat others with respect first. Don’t be fooled by its simplicity; In fact, you will have to spend a lifetime to achieve this.

This news makes me think of the possibility of using super plants or animals to eliminate carbon dioxide from the air. It would be cool business if it were feasible.
How can oyster shells be used to fight climate change?

In today’s episode, we visit a coastal tribe near New Orleans building oyster reefs to lessen the effects of rising sea levels in their community.

As a parent, planning ahead is always a big challenge for me. In my experience, children are naturally spontaneous, so I have to adapt my schedule to accommodate this. These are no such thing as routine and checklist for them. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Today, I watched Wicked with my family. I have to say it was a fantastic movie and I was moved by its story and production. In the show, I couldn’t help but wonder how easily we judged beauty and evil just based on appearance and social status, and how/where do we get these intuition judgements?

This is mind-blowing. I used to believe in sort of philosophical free will similar to Daniel Dennett's view, which is self-control abilities to make choices and take responsibilities. However, after learning from Robert Sapolsky's science perspective, I am now completely convinced otherwise.

From my observation, the left is like: "I get your point, but I still think you're wrong," and the right is like: "How do you know? I don't even know what I'm talking about." Eventually, both sides build their own echo chambers and find a sense of peace.

Only when you let go of the belief in "free will" do you gain a sense of "free" in your choices.

Stating something happened certain years ago can be effective and efficient in a face-to-face conversation. However, it will surely be problematic if printed in a paper book, as the statement may be read many years later and lose its accuracy.

It took me about a minute to figure this out. You need to connect all welding joints divided into four groups by colors, and two terminals of each group has been setup previously. My strategy is to try within the constraints applied by the feasibility of connecting each group.

I very much appreciate blue sky’s design where every account functions as a personal website accessible via a unique internet domain. Domains are fundamental for the internet, which was originally built to promote freedom, and now we kind of get some here.

By Friday I finished reading aloud The Wild Robot Protects to my child. Before that, I had read The Wild Robot Escapes and watched The Wild Robot movie which was based on The Wild Robot volume 1. The Wild Robot series is definitely worth reading and highly recommended. I’m so amazed at its story.

I am not sure what good parenting is, but sometimes I got clues within myself. Every time when I come cross something good, beautiful, loving, it always seems to have roots somewhere, and if it turned out to connect to my parents, it would be a truly wonderful experience.
