- i like how the novel has a more mystery/procedural style? other than the hk movie-esque action scenes, i’ve been really struggling with the cdrama pace and storytelling. the little intros are nice but idk, i am just not Feeling anything.

Just read this and loved it! It's a lovely homage to Chinese fantasy in which the white snake Lady Bai seeks out her lost love and finds him reborn as an artist—an artist in need of a hero to save him from his deadlines. It's a bit about art, a bit about memory and change, and a bit about human joy.
