Merry Christmas - sounds like a lovely day. We also had a quiet one, no Lego but the teenagers spent all day downstairs with us chatting and laughing which was the best present

I had that pillow case when I was wee! Admittedly it was before Paddington started moonlighting as the grim reaper 🤣

I know someone training to be a counsellor who is one of the most self absorbed people I know. Most conversations are entirely about them with seldom even a brief enquiry about the other party, even if they have recently experienced major life events - I feel sorry for their future clients!

I've lived in Ely for over 20 years now, and whilst the cathedral has become part of the landscape, there are still days when the sight of it takes my breath away

I’m so sorry to hear that. We had to say goodbye to our 8 year old dog in November. It hit hard and I got teary for months when little things reminded me of him. Losing a pet is so hard x

Totally agree! I had two 'easy' pregnancies and deliveries but it still takes a huge toll and absolutely cemented my feelings that no one should have to do it unwillingly

Smiski! My 17 yr old son loves his, they are all over his room. My parents gave him one for Christmas years ago and it has become a tradition that he gets one each Christmas and birthday 🙂

Hollow Kingdom by Kira Jane Buxton (a zombie apocalypse told by a pet crow) and Felidae by Akif Pirinçci (a murder mystery where the victims and detective are cats) are both great

Great quote. I just wanted to say I know you weren't sure about continuing with the OOTD at one point but I'm so glad you did. I love having a little discworld to brighten up my day, particularly at the moment. So thank you for your hard work - you are appreciated

We had the same when my daughter was small, she was scared of dogs for years and I'd often get 'don't worry, he's friendly' when asking people to call their dogs. Once got told I was encouraging her fear when I picked her up as a dog bigger than her barrelled towards us! 😡 Luckily she now loves dogs
