Shut your fucking mouth and actually hold the line you coward. You’re getting too old for this, Chuck. Let the next generation do the fighting now, since you’re too chickenshit.

John Fetterman, Angus King, Maggie Hassan, Dick Durbin, Jon Ossoff, Jeanne Shaheen, Kirsten Gillibrand, Catherine Cortez Masto, Mark Warner, Cory Booker, and of course Chuck Schumer. Maybe others not top of mind. Not all responsible will publicly vote for the cave - that's not how this works.

Looks like NY and Connecticut are the only two who don’t have some form of this law on the books. So, unless Schumer’s age knocks his ego down a peg, he (and Jeffries, let’s be honest he’s shitty as well) could absolutely run as independent and fuck over the other dems (more than they normally do).

I’ll have to find a photo for comparison.

The big issue here is that the extended subsidies also raised the income cap for getting help. So this is mainly hitting the middle class bc the subsidies they qualified for will be gone. So they are now paying the full price of their premiums which, for a family of 3+ WILL be in the thousands.

Yeah I worked for the ACA at a call center helping people get enrolled for almost two years so I know how to navigate the system. Luckily there are things the insurers are required to cover to be part of the ACA, like mental healthcare, vaccines, and primary care visits

As far as I know that’s correct. I just enrolled in my 2026 coverage in KS.
But here’s the thing, I fall in a kind of sweet spot with my income where I’m getting the same subsidies as last year. But bc those enhanced subsidies aren’t there helping catch up with inflation, my premiums went up 150%.

In Jackson’s defense she’s trying to keep it OUT of SCOTUS bc she knows as well as we do that SCOTUS would most likely rule in the administrations favor. Smarter people than me have explained the strategy of it. (Not saying it’s good, just that there’s reason behind it that isn’t cruelty)
