This week in #Norwegianhistory: from November 12-13, 1905, Norwegian voters voted in the Monarchy Referendum. The question put to voters was if they would accept Prince Carl of Denmark as King of Norway, after the dissolution of the Union with Sweden. The result was an overwhelming yes.

This week in #Norwegianhistory: on November 4, 1814 the newly established Storting accepted Charles XIII of Sweden as King of Norway following Denmark’s loss in the Napoleonic Wars. Denmark was forced to cede Norway to Sweden. Norway would not be fully independent until 1905. Follow for more!
