Yeah I think the thing that sticks out is they did confirm AI voice lines, which from what I read are created from the voices of actual voice actors (who consented) so it’s an interesting one

Course! And AI across the board. This is because of a very respected interpretation of the copyright act that copyrightable works must be created by a human (a lot of animals making art case law was used for reference funnily enough!)

A great thought! Often I have to run through if my client is using absolutely any ai tools, not for creating assets but for standard everyday tool use, so when we forbid ai use in employment/contractor agreements I can exclude the tools they are using that don’t generate game content specifically

All of the above, but from my legal perspective, the courts are overwhelming agreeing that AI cannot own (and therefore cannot assign/transfer) copyright. So using gen ai in your game creates liability and likely would breach standard warranty terms in any publisher agreement
