It's not sharp salt lol. Its a chemical reaction that happens when skin is exposed to ice and salt. It creates a rapid burn and can cause 3rd degree burns. Your pups need shoes when walking on Icey sidewalks.

I doubt it was set. The cashier or manager probably pressed a panic button that triggers live monitoring from the alarm company.
