Why bother joining a militia when you can be a cop
January 13, 2026 at 3:57 PM
They're just cops. Most cops are the same.

It's a demand, not a slogan

Good to also see people who have specialized knowledge as well . If they are trained to recognize abusive patterns.
January 13, 2026 at 2:37 AM
Sometimes the couples therapists will ask to see people individually for one-off sessions as well.. I assume there is some method to this from their training... I think that would make it harder for abuse to be masked/persist
January 13, 2026 at 2:35 AM
A good therapist should be able to handle abusive/manipulative behavior... It took me going to several therapists before I was able to ID "good" ones
January 13, 2026 at 2:29 AM
That's what it was like before they go talk to them. If you've ever done couples therapy or and kind of conflict resolution you'll understand
January 12, 2026 at 9:09 AM
This is actually helpful for a therapist if you are talking about each other to them

Yeah remember when he deployed the national guard to a bunch of cities? He just said "crime" lol

As far as his intentions, I think his intention is to remain Mayor of NYC, succeed on 3-4 his campaign promises, and limit negative press so that he can remain a viable politician in the future. His intention isn't to support the liberation of the people of Palestine.
January 10, 2026 at 11:18 PM
Yea, you may say it makes no difference what his privately held beliefs vs what he says/does as mayor. As far as what he is materially doing, I think not much at all actually, words are wind. If you were to press him to follow through on arrest Netanyahu, that seems more important.
January 10, 2026 at 11:18 PM
You're arguing with someone who isn't me
January 10, 2026 at 11:13 PM
There is a difference between people's privately held beliefs and what they say and do publicly. I think if you look at his actions prior to his run, it is clear he's an anti-zionist. Perhaps it's not possible for the mayor of NYC to be an anti-zionist. The constraints of the job and electorate
January 10, 2026 at 11:13 PM
I think you're too angry to read or understand that I'm saying. I'm not stanning, endorsing his compromises, making demands, or supporting anything he's doing or saying. I'm just more accurately describing reality. He's an anti-zionist that is compromised by his position.
January 10, 2026 at 11:13 PM
No one is coming to save you, especially not politicians
January 10, 2026 at 10:05 AM
Don't think this counts as programming anymore
January 10, 2026 at 10:00 AM
What if instead he is an anti-zionist whose base is majority liberal zionists
January 10, 2026 at 9:51 AM
Unfortunately defense of Hamas is not within the Overton window for US politicians at the moment
January 10, 2026 at 9:46 AM
He's been grilled hard by the media on Israel/Palestine in the last months, so I think his current public statements/positions are a refined personal calculation of how much he can say without alienating his NYC voters or generating too much negative media attention
January 10, 2026 at 9:44 AM
True, but he's also Mahmood's son and a cofounder of an SJP chapter. I don't think he's a Zionist, I think a more accurate story is that his personal politics are compromised by his need to get along with others inside the political system (incl dem party) and with the media
January 10, 2026 at 9:41 AM
Maybe, if you do something other than voting or posting or asking politicians to do things for you.
January 10, 2026 at 4:24 AM
Yeah, most police departments are staffed with fascists. It's where fascists go to practice the fascistic work of policing. The work itself breeds new fascists, spend every day locking up brown people and having to defend it. And the culture + social scene create fascists by proximity.
