Deepness is also my favourite from Vinge. And more recently I really enjoyed Children of Time by Adrian Tchaikovsky, because it feels close in theme (and also has spiders).

Me and my spouse don’t really call each other anything, because if one talks, the other can safely assume that they are being addressed.

I’ve watched both and don’t really remember anything from either. I happened to glimpse the Robocop remake randomly on TV a while ago, and was surprised to see that Joel Kinnaman stars in it, because I like him, and didn’t even remember he was in it.
