I said basically this to a client today who I figured read Frankenstein at some point but no! She was like "wait it sounds like a scary monster, what's the story, scary monster goes around scaring & hurting people??" Wound up giving an oral dissertation on Mary Shelley & like the human condition lol

You said it, the majority leader has never b4 agreed to bring a dem bill to the floor, & you take him at his word?? SNAP was already back, & a huge majority of your constituents, myself included, desperately needed you to hold out for ACA subsidies. My premiums are almost tripling & people will die.

A huge factor was Bernie's immediate endorsement, leaving no space for Mainers to get a feel for the guy before he was just a Bernie proxy. That inspired a kind of frantic excitement that was threatened by Schumer's meddling with Mills, so on both counts nat'l interference made this inevitable.
