It could also be - sorry to say - desperation for higher paying jobs. When you can't get a job or everything available pays only minimum wage - and trump is waving the promise of $50K in your face if you sign up, you might sign up or at least be tempted to.

...I'm not passing judgment either for or against (though either would beat fascism in my book), but I think this person is correct. If our leaders - be they D or R - don't want such an outcome, they'd best embrace an FDR-style social democracy asap. It will be interesting to see what happens.
