WELCOME PEOPLE IN, not shame people out. We need more allies, and I’m noticing that a lot of yall are yelling at people who are already on your side.

Thank you for reading🖤

I need you to remember that not everyone shops the same way you do. What matters is that people are trying. You don’t need to immediately be aggressive in advocacy, especially in boycott discourse.

4) just because someone has a lot of followers doesn’t mean they’re rich or a monolith. Just because someone has a nice job doesn’t mean they’re rich either. You never know what kind of medical expenses, responsibilities, or struggles people have unless they tell you. De-influence yourself.

3) please remember that other people have entire lives that demand attention, and not every purchase is well researched. Some ppl work 60+ hours a week. They probably don’t know that the parent company owns another company that invested money in a different company that isn’t cruelty free.

3) please remember that a big part of sustainability is using products until you cant anymore. Whether that’s the makeup palette I got as a birthday present in 9th grade or any piece of clothing I own. I’m not throwing it in a landfill because it was made by a crappy company.

1) bold of you to assume I paid for it.

2) please think about how poor people obtain items even if they’re law abiding citizens. Thrifting, handmedowns, for sale by owner, clearance sections, garage sales, etc. buying products directly from companies full price isn’t the only way.

Why crop the other small business’s name out on your story?

Why announce that you “politely declined” the collab?

Why keep the name of a supposedly problematic celebrity ✨as the name of one of your most popular products✨?

Why throw shade publicly at the other brand?

Just…what?! Wtf is going on?

The connotation seemed to be that they didnt want to be associated with the rockstar because of some problematic thing (idk I didnt see anything obvious when I googled)

BUT HERE’S THE WEIRD PART

They have an eyeliner shade named after him. That rockstar. It’s still up on their website. So like…

the aforementioned shady makeup brand made a very weird IG story post, where they took a screenshot of the ad with the rockstar, cropped out the other brand’s name, & captioned it:

“We were offered this collab with [Rockstar] 6 months ago, but we politely declined. Congrats to the brand!”

Weird.

They have been known to use low quality ingredients that stain & aren’t the safest. They’re also known to start drama & shit talk people who get on their bad side.”

WELL

Flash forward to today. A different small business announced a collab with a certain rockstar. I only know this because-

Oh no, I appreciate the concern, but I’m totally fine & I’m looking for tailoring advice, not medical advice.

Should I tailor them? I have the skills & materials, but what if I gain weight in my off season? Do I leave them & try to style them a little baggy? Idk, it was more than I usually fluctuate, so maybe this is just my new normal range? I just love my clothes & want to wear them!!!
