I believe self-coercion is feeling forced against your will or out of alignment with your true values. You wouldn't do it if it was up to you.

The past unlocks so much. Dreams are anchored to past experiences: what we've seen others experience and long to experience ourselves, or a life where past pains are filtered out (desire for wealth after experiencing poverty, connection after loneliness, etc).
