Exposure to traffic noise has been associated with stress-related and cardiovascular outcomes such as hypertension and myocardial infarction. We aren't getting rid of cars anytime soon, I would also prefer if they didn't create so much noise pollution.

Not to mention how inefficient an internal combustion engine is and living near busy roads inhaling brake dust increases your risk for asthma and lung cancer. The tire thing definitely depends on how aggressive you drive. I haven't noticed a big difference in tire wear driving electric for 7 years.
