Anas Al Sharif prepared a note for when he was killed, and the words are utterly heartbreaking.

Not in the least bit surprised or shocked after everything western media has said and done in the last two years.

This ongoing ‘mea culpa’ - concentrated in the West - among high profile pundits, commentators & journalists with the current scale of the genocide in Gaza, only fills me with utter sadness and heartache. So much death because they followed the politics and gave Israel absolute impunity.

Luscious evening walks at my favourite spot in the whole world.

What have your leaders done?

What have your leaders allowed them to do?

The Israeli defence minister posted this photo of Beit Hanoun, Gaza, celebrating Israel’s bombardment.

And some still ask themselves why a region of 500+ million people has disdain, arguably hatred now, for the West.

It is always the innocent, the unarmed, the ones with no say who suffer.

This.

Although I remain very sceptical a ceasefire will hold and worried it would not be real. Israel does not do “ceaeefire’s”.

There is a thesis worth writing on Israel’s attacking - and killing - of Middle Eastern culture, arts, and literature. From Palestine to Iran.

Rest in peace to all of those who died working for and believing in this moment, for those who sacrificed their lives for Syrians to have this moment.

The Syrian revolutionary flag is raised at the UN.

UN USG for humanitarian affairs, Tom Fletcher @tomfletcherun.bsky.social on the mass grave of aid workers found in Rafah, Gaza, killed indiscriminately by Israel.

What should be a global outrage is barely a news headline.

Have spent weeks having long, long conversations across the region on the wider existential threat posed by Israel’s aggression with no US restraint. Much of why there is a both a lacklustre Arab response & no collective regional policy is owing to mixed messages being sent daily from Washington.

After listening to @ruha9.bsky.social on Trevor Noah’s podcast, I ran to order this book. Ramadan gives me downtime & I binge read it. What a breathtaking, beautiful, powerful and challenging read. The power of human imagination and our inherent desire for peace, love, and freedom. A gift of a read.

I feel utter paralysis, pure unshakable physical pain at watching and hearing the desperation in the voices of Syrians, as their country is condemned to Israel’s messianic madness.

It is unconscionable. Criminal. Genocidal.

When Israelis say “all the Arabs” - they always meant it.

Accurate, and rather terrifying write up of current state of affairs in the US.

Catastrophic global consequences if this happens, and is left to pass by Congress and the courts.

A heartbreaking, terrifying day in Iraq.

My prayers for all our women and girls. All power to the courageous, brave, powerful people who have stood against this moment, risked their lives and will continue to, in fighting this barbarity set upon our bodies and our lives.

There is a record of everything. This administration has been shameless, completely unhinged.
