Japanese manga has less narration than American comic, this being my new understanding today when i’m writing a new manga script.
Third person narration to be more specific, in American style it works as story plot explanatory text, as in Japanese manga, works for the straight face(Tsukomi yaku).

A typical ao3reader is of some possibilities to read a “book” book, but another way around is likely to taste.
