Yes and I would go further. Whenever a country somewhere in the world does something ludicrously anti-democratic or authoritarian, don't reflexively compare that country to one in Asia or the Middle East, compare it to America (sort of how we already do with mass school shootings.)

See how many envelopes you can lick in an hour, then try to break that record.

I reckon you could show someone this picture with no context and ask what game it's from. And if they've played it, they'll guess right.

*sigh*, Chapter 2. We were so innocent back then. (well, not really, but you know...)

A new Toy Story movie? in this economy??

loved this part of the game and never understood the disdain for it. Feeling of being right on the very brink of something amazing about to start. And when I replayed it, it's nowhere near as long as people make it out to be.

Think about how much damage has been done in the last six months. Now think about the midterms being almost eighteen months away.

It is astonishing that in the year of our lord 2025 the tea towel *still* continues to be relevant.

It absolutely is now or never. They will not get another chance like this for decades. The next ALP prime minister to have the power Albo currently holds has not been born yet.
May 20, 2025 at 9:35 AM
True. It is bananas. Outside parliament as well as inside. It is simultaneously the "people's republic of victoria" lefty utopia, and the country's most fertile breeding ground of white nationalist extremists. Pick a lane Victoria ffs.

I said after the 2022 election that ALP would be very well advised working enthusasically with the teals and supporting their communities, locking the Liberals out of those seats, and potentially government for the foreseeable. Instead they sidelined them and tried to starve them of resources 🤷🤷🤷

If only Ian Goodenough hadn't been dumped they'd be fine.

It's possible there *was* a market for Trumpism in 2022, with lockdown memories fresh and memories of what a Trump-led government looks like not so fresh. Fast forward a few years and that picture is reversed, to the ALP's distinct advantage.
May 4, 2025 at 5:30 AM
Well, you called it. If anything you understated the scale of the disaster for the Liberals. It's weird though, I just can't recall reading anyone in the Canberra Press Gallery (who have the opportunity to observe this stuff much more closely) saying similar things before 7pm yesterday. Strange!

Sure were. Made no difference whatsoever.
