Age of Metal is our major biopunk TTRPG project we’ve been working on. I’ve added this front cover to the core rulebook and am slowly going over the layout to make sure everything is laid out nicely. We plan to upload a playtesting version alongside a quickstart guide soon.

I’ve been slowly working away at the cover for Age of Metal and it’s definitely becoming something we’re happy with.

I’ve gotten a bit of feedback and I think I’m satisfied with this as something for the early/playtest versions of the game and then we can go from there.

I know I linked some posts about Temporal here, and that had my shoddy iPhone drawing of the cover
But this is my most recent iterations. I might go back and work on the sand but otherwise I’m really happy with it. Current plan is some boss art and then hopefully the early playtest version uploaded

I feel like I’m still improving with digital art, I’ve at least been happier overall with what I’ve been making lately
This one was a concept piece for detailing around any small logos or pieces of art in the rulebook, the idea being they’re being constructed and displayed in a ball of Metal.

Another little piece I’ve drawn for Temporal, I’m trying to do some simple pieces for each of the boss examples. This one is Atelosi, Heart of the Swarm. It’s abilities all focus around controlling and coordinating groups of insects.

Just finished up this concept for the cover art of Blood and Iron. A short story I’ve been working on, set in the world of Age of Metal, about a duo of novice bounty hunters who end up wrapped in more than they bargained for

I’m happy with this as a start, hopefully I can get some help polishing it

The Confluence is comprised of individuals who concern themselves with Ventrum’s wildlife in several ways: poaching, experimentation, etc. The more prominent members, known as The Claws, sometimes go so far as to fuse themselves with with animals.

This time for the insignia of the Ironclad Faith

The colony ship that arrived on Ventrum is known as the Helios, and the Faith worship the Metal, seeing it as a way for humanity to continue to evolve and improve. So I wanted to combine helios’ symbol with their ideals. I’m happiest with top right

I don’t know about best stuff, but here’s a look at the opening for the short story, Age of Metal: Blood and Iron, that I’m working on, it will definitely need a going over once it’s done, but this is something for now

Just discovered #WIPWednesday

I’ve been working on some simple art as placeholders for Age of Metal’s classes. This is the first I’ve worked on, known as the Scrapper class. Able to use healing items as elemental weapons, heal using junk such as empty magazines, and more. (I hate drawing hands)

Some ideas a was playing around with to give the pages in Metal’s rulebook some more personality. I definitely prefer the look with the second heading, but the tendrils underlining, rather than enveloping, might make for a more pleasant viewing experience

I struggled a bit with this one, I had a pretty clear vision for the insignia’s of the other two factions, I started with an eye within an eye as the idea. But felt a simpler logo might be better. I’m still not sure about putting a twist on the

It’s meant to showcase a prominent region on the planet, known as the Shatterfields, and the vast Citadels therein

For actual context, these were brainstorms, from another member, for different species present in Age of Metal, and the effects of their corresponding Shards. An item prominently used by one of the classes to mimic attributes of the species whose genetic information is contained within.

The Glory’s Embrace, second of Gurranai’s big three, are good friends with skilled athletes, and high rollers, who are ready to put everything on the line. Much of their notoriety comes from their vast bloodsport arena, known as the Smelting Pit, that lies beneath the Citadel.

The Final Act are one of the three most prestigious factions in Gurranai, the citadel of entertainment. Led by ‘The Voice’, they often broadcast music, announcements and news of high value bounties using proxies, billboards, etc. through many of the Citadel’s neighbourhoods

This Steel type Turtwig is a variant species from the Maagan region. Living deep within the underground caverns of the region, their antenna detects oncoming electrical storms that surge through the caverns.
