I Understand exactly what you’re saying. To me, it’s that there are so many subscriptions. For Bunch, may make sense to subscribe to the Inquirer. But I still have to subscribe to the NYT, WSJ, WaPo, Atlantic, etc. so if it was ala carte, would I spend more or less? Guessing less but open to debate

Honestly, it’s an idea I’ve rolled around. Take, for example, @willbunch.bsky.social One of our best journalist speaking truth to power, but if I want to read him, I have to pay for whole Inquirer. But if I could buy a column for $5, I’d do it every time!

I have to tell you that, as someone who has been a diehard fan of The Onion for years, it is so refreshing to see newspaper & web still pump out hilarity, but also make a stand for what’s right in the world. Please keep putting good out into the world!

Interesting! I’m hosting a Polish Exchange student this summer so I’m trying to learn more! And I saw that Lech Walesa is doing a speaking tour this Fall so I can’t wait to hear that!

How has Poland recovered so quickly from the authoritarian party (Law & Order I think?) rigging the courts and whatnot. Seemed like they were on a quick slide to being the next Hungary?

Congress also didn’t approve its construction. It was sitting in crates until Pulitzer fundraiser to erect it!

Yeah I definitely haven’t met 2 former Ukrainian ambassadors, the NSC’s Russia expert, the State Department’s North Korea expert and the South Korean economic mission in the last year…oh and a 4-star General/former head of the CIA. Didnt learn me anything. But you keep on keyboard warrioring!

Have you noticed that a large percentage of Americans — larger than any of us would like — follow and believe what these MAGA guys say? At some point, in order for this country to move forward, MAGA has to be proven to be decisively wrong. And that’s not gonna happen when you make them right!
