The thing about Gorton and Hughes is that they understand the difference between management and players—something Bergevin failed to grasp. Bergevin acted as if he was still a player, captain of the team in addition to GM.

I hate to be nitpicking, but after Hutson scored his empty netter the color commentator said, “It’d been a long time since he scored, he really needed that one. . .” Meanwhile, Hutson’s on pace for 12 goals and 68 assists.
