I know that this analysis is all over the place, which is fine since I'm getting all my thoughts out in words. The shock that both Donnie and the person who is watching the movie feels when they find out who Frank is. He was a person, a alive person that we possibly thought didn't exist at all (...)

Donnie literally wakes up in the middle of the street with his bike. It can be assumed of what possibly happened but still isn't explained fully of understanding as to why exactly. At the most part, Donnie just says what he feels in those moments that it disturbs the people around him. (...)

The whole theme and concept of Donnie Darko is time travel itself. And although I don't know how much is shown in the other one that isn't the director's cut, I feel as that this version shows more context and more information due to how at the beginning we practically don't know why the fuck (...)
