Salad lunch is best lunch

I think I finally cracked the perfect sourdough crumpet consistency. They're always tasty, but today was the first time I really nailed that crumpet feel. #baking

Hyacinth, oatmeal cookies, and bread are making a lovely tableau at the end of my kitchen counter today. These small moments of peace and joy are playing a vital role in keeping me going lately.

Trying on a new morning routine: wake up, have breakfast, call my representatives/senators about the latest awfulness, read emails

Pro: folding my calls into my morning gets them done early and can be good for my morale

Con: exposure to the news first thing in the morning can be A LOT these day

It's almost certainly not the healthiest preparation, but the results are hard to argue with. Also the leftover plantain brown butter is a pretty nice bonus..
