Would Ricardo Pepi feel comfortable with his family watching a USMNT match in Mnpls? It’s just cowardice from every single writer. I have hope for the Guardian team yet, but the rest are cowards who check their ethics and duties at the door @paultenorio.bsky.social @stevengoff.bsky.social

It speaks to the publicly unannounced complicity of the USMNT press with USSF to shield players from any discussion of real-world topics affecting the team. Do players believe that birthright citizens like Balo should not be Americans per the administration’s legal arguments?

You’d have to have one good candidate for it to be heated in a good way. It could also be heated in the sense that it dooms the state if Kim makes the general

Not that she has a shot at this point, but I'm officially crossing
@bettyyeeforca.bsky.social off my list of candidates I'd consider for Governor of California.

Saying she wouldn't sign #SB79 is totally disqualifying.

Thanks to NIMBY group Catalysts for Local Control for getting the tea!

Betty Yee forcefully opposed divesting CalPERS from fossil fuel corporations as State Controller. She’s also allegedly been courting NIMBYs by saying that she wouldn’t have supported SB79.

Let alone the statements of the President and many members of the administration that African immigrants are garbage who need to be sent out of the country even if they are citizens.

I would love to see any journalist ask anyone associated with the USMNT whether they agree with President Trump that Folarin Balogun and Yunus Musah should have their citizenship stripped away. It is not a political question - eliminating birthright citizenship is an explicit goal.

Thanks for finding that - I had searched and didn’t see it. Per my post, I deleted my own error.

But that doesn’t seem like it necessarily tracks globally? Unless there is this international anxiety that preparing your kids to succeed requires them being outliers in something, and the only way to do that is by starting cello lessons at 5, lacrosse at 6, and music production at 7. My best guess

No clue why French moms are the outlier, and as a parent of kids under 5 I feel like I have little insight into why parents are more hands on w older kids (though I yearn for a world more like Japan’s “Old Enough”). One inkling is the specialization of extracurriculars and how they start so young

One of the weird trendy parenting books of the past decade or so is “Bringing Up Bébé” about an American journalist in Paris learning the hands-off French parenting style. I didn’t read it and it seemed very superficial, but there is definitely a self-aware cultural element to French parenting.

Reading “The Planet on the Table” (esp the intro) completely changed my opinion of KSR. From that intro and his interviews on how he wrote Aurora, I don’t think he’d concur about his prose style’s intent. He absolutely wants you thinking about the author, but maybe I’m misunderstanding your point.

So funny that his example of his abundance mindset is watching Ben Shapiro videos during his kids’ basketball games. Just unbelievable bozo behavior

You’re a feckless coward.

City traffic engineer Megan Johnson has in fact publicly stated that the City will not implement leading pedestrian intervals as req’d by law at the intersections around where Kaleb was killed (even though it could be done immediately with current conditions) until they have a LPI equity plan.
