I tried to save some money by not ponying up for a Cursor license and instead used Avante + Neovim. At this rate, my ghetto command line IDE is costing me 7x what the license would have cost me thanks to API pricing for token calls at the API level. Oops.

According to my Perplexity queries, 30.5% of the human population, representing 2.5 billion people, was born after the iPhone was released. That's a lot of people who've always lived with information ubiquity. I wonder how AI will change things further.

Labor is the most expensive line item for early-stage start-ups. AI-natives will have a cost and speed advantage compared to pre-AI companies because their org was built around an older workflow. The tech recession continues, more downsizing is inevitable.

Even in today’s AI-automated world, where vibe coding seems to be the future for many computer science students, mastering the art of writing code the traditional way is still clutch because knowing what's up when AI-generated code leads you on a path to nowhere will give you the tools to fix it.
