Preventing extreme accumulation of wealth so that those dollars are paid to poorest workers instead *does* help them make more. It's not just people, it's corporate wealth. Put another way, stopping price gouging in real estate, health insurance, etc. also makes existing income go further, too.

Don't even restore them. Just re-release the laser disc versions on new physical media and call it a day

That's a strawman argument. There is arguably nobody to buy those shares given the existing wealth concentrations. So why not just transfer the shares from megarich folks via a "tax" into the accounts of the bottom 90%?

Tax the dividends, sale, and any loans taken against their value at the same rates as "regular" income. I think the tax on loans is incredibly important since rich people *do* live off their paper wealth that way.
