Gravel biking out of Innsbruck. Map says 7% grade, but road is 14% up and 7% down. Great example of how averages don't tell you much about actual energy costs. But a beautiful day despite the steep grades.

The daunting Powerline climb on the 3rd day of the Leadville Stage Race. Pitches of 15% to 20% on heavily rutted jeep road. I don't know how the pros climb this --- like all the other mortals I had a 2 mile walk. You're biking shoes need to be good hiking shoes for this ride #bikesky

Spider Mountain. It's only a 350 ft climb to the top on gravel and rutted dirt over 0.6 miles. But it's got brutal 15-19% reaches on its 11% average. And a nice view;
