This was a shorter hike so less energy was spent on the illustrations. But I couldn't pass up the interesting route formations of the two younger trees rising out of the nurse log.

An example of practicing drawing people today. Urban Sketchers is having a challenge of drawing 100 people this week. I won't make a hundred but it is an enjoyable challenge to draw people quickly.

I was able to attend Urban Skechers Tacoma's outing at Watson's nursery and greenhouse in Puyallup. This time I did two smaller sketches instead of dedicating the time just to one large detailed illustration.

Today I went to the Urban Sketcher Seattle event at the UW biology greenhouse. I really enjoy drawing in this space but was distracted by all the different shapes and failed to draw any architectural details in my sketch. www.biology.washington.edu/facilities/g...

My completed sketch from Emerald City Orchids. It is a struggle to capture all the details on site so the sketch is often completed at home.

Today we had a field trip to Emerald City Orchid. The owner Joe was generous with his time and answered our multiple questions about terrariums and orchids. So many variations of orchids to see.

An individual I follow on Instagram was trying to get rid of her card stash. If you messaged her your address a card would be sent to you. This is the card I received today and it made me smile.

It was nice to be able to include Mount Rainier in the sketch that I completed on site at the Tacoma art museum.
