this paper emerged out of my qualifying exams during my phd, but thanks to my co-authors @divyangana.bsky.social and @richardfbetzel.bsky.social it has developed so much!

importantly, there are big consequences of brain network connectivity varying across interpersonal social experience:

one is that the pattern of brain network organization that is associated with better (mental) health may look different in different environments!

We call these experience-specific patterns of connectivity (and their trajectories of reconfiguration over development)

Robert Chapman’s book Empire of Normality lays out that thesis exactly in the context of autism. i know other folks have done the same for adhd, but i can’t name any pubs off the top of my head.
