If your car had to display the cost of the journey every time you turned the ignition off, people might think twice about driving everywhere.
That’s true for EV or petrol vehicles.
Out of town retail parks might suffer if people counted the price of the trip to get there.

Why should people subsidise landowners? The price of land has risen as supply is constrained and demand constantly rising.
A LVT that squeezed the price of land significantly would mean build costs would determine price alone & allow developments to compete on quality. As would sufficient supply…
