What is the point you're trying to make here?

As great a loss to France as Hitler was to Germany.

Thank you for your comments and your contribution to the discussion. You don't have my CV.

Please have the last word. It's what you're angling for.

I won't read it, but it's yours anyway. This is not my day for dealing with trolls. That's a Saturday.

Precisely why you should not be telling us anyone is in court to "prove their innocence".

Which is what I said.
December 25, 2024 at 5:47 PM
Tell me, and everyone reading this, that you don't understand the concept of onus probandi without saying "onus probandi".

Because that is literally the instruction given to juries.

You do not know my expertise, and yours in law is clearly not worth a fart.

Have a nice day. Stay in your lane.

Not quite as terrible add what happened to the guy in the car.
December 25, 2024 at 2:03 PM
Court cases don't prove innocence, only guilt.
December 25, 2024 at 11:37 AM
Nice try, but I'm still not unfollowing.
December 24, 2024 at 4:56 PM
Point me to the bits that do that. I'm struggling to find them on my own.

"The latter simply cannot happen without extensive civilian deaths."

Some people may ask if there's a distinction between "collateral damage" and deliberately targetting hospitals, schools, and refugee tents.

One of these sounds like a war crime.
December 24, 2024 at 8:58 AM
Israelis are murdering civilians because they can't see any soldiers?

That's your argument?
December 23, 2024 at 6:55 PM
It's awkward that it needs to be said so often, but Time Person of the Year is NOT an award or a prize.

It's about impact in the world of current affairs.
December 22, 2024 at 2:53 PM
Maybe tax a few billionaire tax dodgers.
December 18, 2024 at 8:03 PM
Reminiscent of OJ Simpson's post trial vow to track down Nicole's killer . . .
December 18, 2024 at 5:16 PM
Surely his testimony given in court will be a matter of public record, which is the issue here, rather than any court's judgement?
December 18, 2024 at 3:11 PM
Quite so. Do not let there be any room for the frivolous in this world.
December 18, 2024 at 2:57 PM
Of course it’s meaningful.

As to relevance, you introduced it here. I only went through the door you opened.
December 18, 2024 at 2:54 PM
I'm kinda thinking that the problem of overfishing might have less to do with the whale population growth than the human population growth.
December 18, 2024 at 1:39 PM
In a contest between whales and humans in inflicting environmental damage, who do you think comes away with first prize?
December 17, 2024 at 4:53 PM
I know. It's the only part that mentions pensions . . .
December 17, 2024 at 4:28 PM
"we will set out proposals to provide all young people entering the workforce with a personal pension fund [...]

Older people currently in the workforce would be unaffected - they will continue to contribute as now and receive the normal state pension when they retire."

What that manifesto said.
December 17, 2024 at 3:27 PM
How would that have worked?
December 17, 2024 at 2:23 PM
I'm all behind the sentiment here, but for the sake of accuracy, you don't get jail for not paying TV licence. What you may get prison for is subsequently disobeying a court order in consequence, but that is true for any court order.

Otherwise, this guy should have been savouring porridge.
December 14, 2024 at 1:34 PM
I can't help thinking that

"Badenoch wants our country to take its foot off the gas and ditch key green policies"

isn't quite the best metaphor here.
December 13, 2024 at 6:50 PM
How is that?
