the challenge is the representation of images is easily expressed. we dont have a single data representation for 3d objects. so end up with a voxel or triangle approach as opposed to more abstract solids approach.

Why do you have to print them? Authority? Or is someone else asking for hardcopies?

I can understand for furniture and alot of other items (tho I suspect the renders will be affected if using traditional PBR). But lets take a UB, obviously its alot easier/accurate to ask for a profile and extrude it rather then ask for a mesh esp if you want to say extract fab NC files.

Heres an example of one of the better meshes my son and i created with comfyUI. Looks ok on surface, but open it up and its use is limited.

The UV mapping is still pretty bad as well as the mesh topology. Great for simple low res but not good for any animation or good lighting. Have you thought how we translate these meshes to parametric topology? Ie extrusions, lofting etc.. is IFC the only constraint schema?
