Joe Biden won in 2020 in response to covid. Trump failed on it and Joe told a story of stability which people wanted. No preference won the popular vote in 2024 because people don't want stability. They want a radical solution now and the democrats told them things would mostly stay the same.

Patriotism started it, but Trump got the same number of votes each election. Joe won because people were tired of Trump and his Covid response and wanted him out. Then, people realized they also disliked Joe Biden and Kamala said that she couldn't think of a single thing she'd do different to Joe.

Trump got the same number of votes every time. They didn't become Trump voters. They flet disenfranchised and didn't vote. The faithless are stupid, but mostly not evil people.
