The gymnastics schedule for the 2026 Commonwealth Games has been released, and will fall between the 24th and 28th of July.
I think we can expect to see the same format as 2022, with a combined quals/TF for MAG and WAG over 2 days, one MAG and WAG AA day, then 2 days of EFs.

Teams have been announced for GBR for the European Championships. Pretty much the gymnasts I expected! A great mix of familiar and new faces.

Teams have been announced for GBR for the European Championships. Pretty much the gymnasts I expected! A great mix of familiar and new faces.
Here's the schedule - if you happen to be an all arounder with strengths in the mixed team apparatuses, you could potentially be competing for 5 days without a day off (or with one day off for women). That doesn't sound sustainable. I have a feeling top nations will pull out to focus on AA and EFs.

This is the format for the Euros mixed team final. It's the first time I've looked at it - I've never seen anything like this before! In every other mixed format I recall, either the gymnasts compete all events or they get to choose which ones to compete. I do wonder if some nations will withdraw.

Not sure if this has been shared - from Abigail Roper (GBR). She will be competing all around at British Championships this weekend but is pulling out of DTB Pokal to focus on further recovering from elbow surgery in December.

Elevien has updated its system to include the new bonuses. I expect some other systems to take longer so we'll probably keep seeing some funky workarounds!

A message from Jessica Gadirova - today she plans to compete beam with a basic dismount, and beam and bars at British Champs with basic dismounts. Sensible progression back to competition!

Here's my proposal for a new MAG uniform. Something like what pole vaulters wear - basically a singlet with longer legs so you don't need to wear shorts/trousers over it.

Is this the 'Max Whitlock rule'? Or alternatively the McClenaghan and Kurbanov rule, as they showed at the Olympics that it really is possible to have a fully extended body position and that should be rewarded.
