I decided to let my "design brain" rest for December and see what I could do about getting some of my old games running in newer versions of Unity (Goodbye, Unity v5)
So instead of "adding to the world" I've spent a month getting annoyed at things I did a decade ago.

Just got a screenshot from a friend proving this dumb game DOES run on other people's computers, too! #GameDev is an exercise in stressing over things until your brain explodes, but every once in a while you get these little rays of light that let you catch your breath.

I'm being EXTREMELY productive this holiday break - I finally finished Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap! Honestly, loved it. For some reason I always treated it as "not a mainline game", but once I gave it a chance I found it INCREDIBLY charming.

I just tried to reuse a 3d model I made a few years ago, and when I looked at it I immediately had a visceral "ewww" reaction, so I THINK I might be getting slightly better if I can tell how ugly my old stuff is? #gamedev

"It gets better" is slowly evolving into "It stays about the same, but at least you can stress-eat taco bell on the way home"
It's easy to forget how insanely stressful it is to be a kid. School is just going to work for a boss who, by design, keeps assigning you jobs you have ZERO experience in. And THEN you don't even get to decide what you have for dinner.
