We saw @karaswisher.bsky.social and @profgalloway.com do a live @pivotpod.bsky.social last night in SF. They were in great form. @mayorlurie.bsky.social was a guest and got rapturous applause. A great evening.

#Art #KAWS Just saw the “KAWS: FAMILY” exhibit at @sfmoma123.bsky.social. Very disappointing. Tiny. Half of it was his cereal boxes and his “Simpsons” pieces. Promised merch was scarce and it seems that was a HUGE part of the draw. Poorly done.

#NowWatching We saw “Stereophonic” last night at The Curran Theater in SF last night. Nine Tony nominations. We left at intermission. I spent 20 years in recording studios as an engineering producer. The show made a valiant attempt at reproducing a recording studio.

#NowWatching Finished the six episodes of “Maigret” on Masterpiece Theater. B-. It felt a bit claustrophobic and relied a bit too much on standard cop show tropes. Would like to have seen more of Paris. #Maigret

#NowWatching We just finished season 3 of “The Diplomat.” A solid C-. They take 3 episodes of plot and stretch it into 8 episodes. Tedious relationship drama interferes with what could have been a much tighter show. #TheDiplomat

#NowReading I just finished “The Uncool,” a memoir by Cameron Crowe. Very enjoyable I grew up reading his writing for Rolling Stone and other rock mags. I’ve also enjoyed his movies… “Say Anything”, “Fast Times at Ridgemont High” and especially “Almost Famous.” A likeable and touching story.

We saw “One Battle After Another“ in IMAX last week. It was one of the best movies I’ve seen in years. The most original movie I’ve seen since “Pulp Fiction“ and I predict a sweep of the Oscars… Best picture, director, script, actor, supporting actor, and score. #OneBattleAfterAnother
