My signed copy of Patti Smith's new book arrived today from McNally Jackson! Which means I had to wait over a week to get the book (which came out last Tuesday). Which is probably a good thing, since I'll doubtless gobble it up instantly.

Which, unfortunately, I did...and one of the issues I cut up was #2. Here is all that's left of the cover, which survives because I liked the photo on the other side (Conrad Veidt in THE MAN WHO LAUGHS).

Today's Los Feliz protest was smaller than the No Kings one, but still sizable and raucous. Many motorists honked their support. (At one point there was an "ICE OUT! LET'S GO!" chant to the tune of "Blitzkrieg Bop.") I'm so glad I went. Afterwards I stopped in at Skylight Books.

Went to Skylight Books, where they had successfully ordered the book I wanted (which had proved too challenging for Bookshop.org). Also, the Los Feliz jacarandas are currently at full blast.
