I've been wanting to get into reviewing my favourite current reads for #booksky and today I'm finally starting with an absolute gem: The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet by #BeckyChambers. Here's my review:

I've been in a bit of a drawing slump the past few months (and also still want to write reviews for #booksky but just didn't do it yet), but yesterday I just sat down and doodled a mushroom picking dwarf, because that's what I did on friday!

I love the #RedRising series by #PierceBrown and had been wanting to draw something from it for a while. I tried drawing Kavax with Sophocles but really wasn't happy with the result, so I tried for a fox again. I'm really happy with how his face turned out, so that's the part I'm sharing 🤭

I applied my new found knowledge about watercolors to a motive of my choice and went for #PaulAtreides portrayed by #TimothéeChalamet in #Dune. I wasn't really happy at first but it has grown on me and I can learn from the things that aren't perfect!

Following a tutorial by Ludmila Blum on the Tombow website I used my watercolor markers the way they're supposed to be... with water! And blending! I'm very happy with the result 😊

Another animal series. I just love drawing great cats, elephants are one of my favourite animals, the raccoon eating pizza was my wife's idea and the desert mouse because Dune is amazing!

During my vacation in the Baltic Sea I drew some fitting wildlife and scenery. I chose a harbour porpoise, a seagull, a seal, a roe deer and a lighthouse scenery near Kristiansand!

After practising how to draw B&W digitally, I dusted off my sketchbook and drew the dwarf that is my profile pic on many platforms to this day! I didn't really use references and messed up some of the clothes, which I practised next.
