Just finished reading "These Lifeless Things" and spent the last third of the book convinced that it was an allegory of the Russian war on Ukraine before realizing it was written earlier. Still think it applies so well! Thank you!

In all fairness, adult dragonflies are also some of the most successful hunters (something like 93% capture rate) so it's more of a "glow up murder machine"

Not a podcast but "The Wager" audiobook is great - an account of the Wager Mutiny, in which a shipwrecked and starving British naval crew abandoned their captain on a desolate Patagonian island.

I wonder if it's just trying to get some calcium from the shell. I know that captive indoors are often given calcium supplements.
