Re: mutations, certainly in my generation those of us who were 1st language *never got taught them in any structured way* because we "just did them". So I'm still guessing/going by ear even now! I did three languages in school (E/W/Ger) didn't get taught grammar in any of them!

Honestly, salted caramel is everywhere atm, and it's a pain - OH refuses to eat it so he has to check everything before we buy 🙄
