I’ve been grinding so much at night my jaw is popping. Cool.

My hysterectomy was one of the best decisions I ever made. Surgeon removed tons of endometriosis, uterus and tubes. I have been pain free for 2 years!

Good riddance uterus! Instead of bleeding out every month I’m now a working mom applying to joint MSW / JD programs for next fall. Thank you to Dr Blanton and my partner for encouraging me and being my biggest cheerleader. 🙏🏼

Of course there’s metric tons of racism / white supremacy. Our government is actively supporting genocide. Creating empathy with art and storytelling is one way forward. Hoping the more I share about my own struggles I encourage others to do the same.

One thing that’s become clear since the morning after Election Day — our communities need healing, urgently! I truly believe more people sought to affirm our government and economy is not working for them than actively seeking to hate or marginalize others.

I remembered what it felt like to believe in myself, to be surrounded by those who affirm my experiences. It’s truly changed the trajectory of my life. Everyone deserves to feel affirmed, to be believed, to prioritize their body and their health.

… being finally being taken seriously by Dr Emily Blanton impacted my mental healing in ways I still have trouble expressing today. I was AFFIRMED. I finally understood more deeply what the gender affirming conversation is about, too. Bodily autonomy in general, too!
