Can you imagine being so disconnected that you forget that your own child is a whole human with a legitimate self image? No? No one can imagine having that much money, either. All I can imagine is that it comes with a sort of sickness that disconnects you from humanity.

Why do we say state sponsored when we mean sponsored by you? To absolve ourselves of the responsibility, perhaps? "State sponsored genocide" has a very different ring than "genocide, sponsored by you!" Verbage matters.

The leading cause of child death in this country is also the thing keeping us safe from our own government. It's a twisted sacrifice. Don't come after us! We have so many guns that we kill our own babies!

Those struggling with addiction and poverty usually suffer from trauma. All of their extra energy is spent on surviving and recovering, and there is nothing left to focus on career and finances the way one "should." Not only are they dealing with a rigged system, but they are handicapped.

We humans love things in neat packages. We are down here trying to make order and reason out of chaos. As if god isn't some "perfect" idea trying to manifest itself by whatever means it has available within this imperfect reality. There's something to be said for resourcefulness and improvisation...

The slave class that gives their life hours to the wealthy in exchange for the means to buy basic human rights are being squeezed to the point where we will not be able to deny the oppression. This is not a shared existence. This is exploitation. We are being exploited for the hours of our lives.

The oppressor can't rightly choose where balance is found. They know not where equity lies. They cling to power in fear that the pendulum will swing in the other direction. But oftentimes, the oppressed barely even take what they need when given the opportunity, much less their fair share.
