I think I like dark media and horror because it helps me contextualize the darkness and horror of the real world, but there's been more than a few days where I wished I was fruitlessly firing a revolver into a shadow bound for my throat rather than fruitlessly working 11P to 7A 5 days a week.

dark souls has a lot of aspects to it. i see games with only one aspect called a soulslike when it doesn't feel like souls at all
